They're a tad slow but they're near bulletproof! Hard to kill :)

Someone didn't do a good job matching colors it seems lol :D

Welcome to the club by the way :)

It's worse close up it's covered in birds shite been in a barn since January lol and I thought the isusu engine was the bullet proff Engine and the Gm was delicate

They're old diesel engines used since the mid 80's, both are hard to kill. I'd say the ISUZU is slightly more fiddly as it's a wonky japanese design.

Basic, very thickly build!

As for the bird ****, i think at this point it's eaten into the paint lol

Lol I think i might go for the bird poop patina look. And I don't know much about these engines from what I understand is that you can't tune them and that they were ment to be a bad Engine but it's only on 71 something thousand

The "bad" in them is that they're just dog slow. give them proper maintenance and they'll run forever. :)

So out of interest is there anything you can do to it like better exhaust or playing with the turbo or actuator

You could adjust the fuel pump a bit so that it idles a bit higher, helps speed. but you do lose allot of mpg

They're good if you don't play with them, horror stories are probably from people trying. That looks like a hard match to do on the paint as well without it being 20 years old, just don't go Halfords, if their Moonland Grey is anything to go by it will come out blue :(

Standard hatch sprigs lower the rear around 50mm, I had them and 60mm Eibach on the front and it sat more or less level, I'd stick a pic up but Photobucket is holding me to ransom...

I want 60mm front an 60mm rear but they don't do it in the kit so was wondering if 60mm cavalier rear springs would work

You could go full on rat look. ;)

As others have said, the bad rep about the GM engines is because you can't turn the pump up like on the Isuzu, so you can't really make it quicker, and people have buggered them up trying to treat them like a drag race car...

60mm Astra hatch springs would drop the back 100/110mm, so if Cav springs fit, I imagine it would be the same effect.

welcome back mate
