I want to upgrade my front speakers in the doors. I don't want to have to modify the door card, I want slim ones that will fit with nothing more than a fitting ring from halfrauds. I don't want to spend more than £30 (I'm thinking second hand of course!) and I don't want to amp them. My headunit preamps to 50W anyway, thats good enough for me. What kind of speakers is it worth looking out for? I've been offered a set of Vibe SEK50's for £30, but I found them on ebay for £15. They boast 90w RMS and loads of other stuff that makes no sense to me, is that good?

All I have atm is standard fronts, I have Sony 6x9s for the back once I've decided where to mount them and I want nice front ones too to get a good sound all round.

first off vibe sek 50s are to small in diameter im not sure on depth but my se60s are miles too deep and ive had to chop up my door cards so id rule them out and look at something like the fli range iirc they are not as deep

Think I'm going to order some of them speakers Adam when I re-do my fronts as I looked at mine the other day and they're all ripped! When you order from them do you have to pay postage?

165mm diameter iirc and 56mm mounting depth :thumb: if you arent amping them then you will want coaxials not components. components are separate woofer and tweeter, and you will struggle to run them properly off the HU

coaxials are the woofer and tweeter are in the same cone as it were... look at the pics below

just a quick hijack here. anyone know the size of the rear speakers? are they the same in the estate and hatch?

130mm tom :thumb:

for the back!? they have ample space lol..

Aye because they go in the parcel shelf supports there is nothing underneath them so all depends how big you like ;)

mines an estate though, they go in the rear door
