white mk3 estate GSI

Gone over and over wiring and its all fine, now think its down to a boost pipe kinking or leaking.
Will have to wait for next month and new intercooler/boost pipe kit.

Cheers mate, just a few teething problems at the moment hopefully will be sorted this weekend.

Ill have to keep a eye out for this as in Wrexham this weekend collecting parts

Missed the last update on this, looking awesome! :)

its been a while!
The Astra is still with me although its been sat on my drive for over 12 months doing absolutely nothing.
it was great on the road apart from the gearbox was awful and the suspension was **** so with all these flaws i've found while driving it daily over 12 months it was now time to crack on.

My new smoker

I was looking for some cav turbo wheels and a mate told me about this so went and picked it up, head gasket failure no MOT £200.
Couple of useful bits and pieces on it aswell i sold the 5 stud legs and brakes as i already had some, sold the outer CV joints as they were quite rare (small block to big block).
GSI steering wheel (not leather)
GSI front arch liners
GSI heated elecy mirrors
Door looms to match
Expansion tank to suit my saab motor
mint gear gaitor
mint handbrake gaiter
front windows as mine had some scratching
and a C14se with 90k on it.

Saab ng900 Visors i had from breaking the saab a while back

started to clean up my saab legs for paint

pulled to lump back out to begin

fatty

quick blast with the lance

underseal off

missed some pictures out here but basically took all the seam sealer out the engine bay using a copper wire wheel, cut some air box lugs off and welded up any old loom holes i no longer need.

ill be smoothing the turrets and legs in if you haven't already guessed.
keeping the battery tray and abs as i still want the car to be practical and family friendly.

and that's where i'm upto!

and this bumper aswell i keep forgetting about, 200TS rep that i got of an old mate for nothing so i don't mind knocking it around as it needs repairing and parking sensor holes removing.

nice work need to see this in the flesh one day wouldnt mind im always in llay to

still chipping away, got the engine bay somewhere near finished, hopefully the last guide coat on now.

next ill be working front to rear using tetroseal stone chip through the winter hopefully, made a start with both front arches.

Need to make more space in the garage now and ill lift the car up on scaffold and crack on through the winter.

Have you also painted over the stone chip?
Apologies if I'm wrong but I think you have to in order for it to be water tight.

yes thats the plan, ill be painting the underneath along with the engine bay hopefully, just switched to u-pol gravitex as it gets less angry so i've heard. I had a few problems with the zinc i was using in places.

Bays looking well, loving the use of the scaffolding..

cheers its took me ages lost count how many hours, still not ready.
shopping trolley wheels ;) i have broke one wheel up to now my own fault though

well first update of the year not done an awful lot aquired a few parts here and their and workshop equipment, been busy with my other car as well doing this an that but finally i got round to doing a bit now the temperature has risen slightly, i've been learning the art of painting this year and set my self up with everything i need for small jobs, panels wheels ect and found the confidence to put some colour in the engine bay/ front panel/ inner arches. all went better than i could have thought and i was chuffed with the results, space was VERY tight for maneuvering around the car, one false move is all it takes but shire concentration and patience paid off, apart from when i put the first rivet in for the vin plate and the fcuker jumped and made a little mark on my slam panel!

first was 2 coats of etch primer.

so now that's done the long and tiring process begins underneath to prepare for u-pol gravitex stonechip and then finally paint. just need to get the car off the ground as high as possible and safely.
