hehe, thx but no thx FrostyHound hehe. we never had a Diesel option in SA - we only had Petrol 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2L options.

thx Andy_Mk3, yes i was also surprised in how clean it was after some degreaser and water.
in the 1990 - 2000 not so much hey, but now its very common. Our Diesel quality was not as good/clean in the 90's as other countries.
Fitted an external dump valve but didn’t want to cut the original pipe so I had a stainless Steel pipe made up. So now I can change between the pipes and loving the sound but I’ve noticed that when the external dump valve is fitted I have a bit of turbo lag – not sure why-

I still think GM made a massive mistake not making a C20LET Astra for the UK, it would have sold well I'm sure, especially in the era of Escort Cosworths etc.

When you fit an external dump valve on the c20let you have to block off the original recirc one on the turbo. Usually when you get a dump valve kit there is a little spacer thing that you fit inside the valve to keep it closed..
yes Andy i agree, sometimes i wonder how " top level" decisions are made. From whom are they getting their data/stats from or do they just ignore what the public wants. The same in SA we had no 3 door Mk3's, cruise control ..........
