hi people i am new to astras and was wondering if i could pick someones brains.

i have a 2.0 8v bertone astra and i am currently taken the engine out when i get spare time was wondering are these immobilised with a key chip and transponder and also where does the wiring un plug thank you

also i was looking into getting a set of morrettes how much are they worth/going for? thanks in advance

On my door step mate howdo. 2L 8vs arnt immobilised. wiring is in the drivers sill cover. up through the bulk head behind the washer bottle. piece of cake really if you need a hand im.happy to help. ive just sold a set of morettes for 80quid. their is a set on here for 90posted with lamp. or ebay a set for 135 plus postage so bit saving.
 
thank you i know what i am doing really just want to know the difference between a corsa and an astra wiring (key chip and ecu) and they sound pretty much the same i was looking at getting an astra when i could afford the insurance and now i deffinately want one as i was looking at a project thread of a white carbrolet with a new shape front end on i think it looks cool any idea how much work went into it this is the link

alot of work went into the german cabby, but the mk4 front its abit boxy for a curvey cabby, but thats my opinion
 
looks like he has done the same on the link, definitly has on the bonnet,
 
just went out and baught myself an astra 5 door tds in white
plans are gloss black morrettes
i have a gsi bumper and bonnet not sure weather it will look right or not though
lowered 40 mill (family/winter car)
astra sxi alloys (lots of spokes) gloss black or original silver?
tinted windows
cc door handles
one of those trip computer things not sure weather it will fit or not though any ideas?
what do you guys think any suggestions please let me know

yeah mate stumbled accross your progress thread yesterday
ok time i told you a little infomation
well due to cheap insurance i have always been into my corsas i still have my second one as i am planning on a full rebuilt which is why i baught my bertone cabby
specs
carabic blue (badly painted matt black)
black astra sxi alloys (sold)
morrettes
gsi bump[er
gsi bonnet
12 disc multichanger
aftermarket speakers
and the 2.0 8v mpi
since then the girlfreind decided to have her baby so come the end of the year when my insurance expires i wanted something 5 door and white for some reason no ideas why
for a runaround i was using a 106 diesel and i am getting fantastic fuel ecconomy my first french car and the last!! so it had to be something diesel aswell
anyways back to the astra its 5 door white and diesel exactly what i wanted
any ideas on fuel ecconomy ?
and do you think i should fit all of the gsi bits?
and i really want a gsi spoiler like yours gareth just the top one how much are they going for and where can i get one?
same with the trip computer how much and best place to get it ?? thanks pictures to follow shortly of my astra none of the cabby unless i can find it of the internetr haha
