Another pic heavy update with not really a lot of progress 
Trial fitted my battery box - hopefully finally get around to fitting it and wiring it all in this week
Can remove battery tray from engine bay then and tidy up wiring / pipework etc.
This lot turned up in exchange for my old engine
Nice chap called Chris 'popped' up from Cardiff on Thursday to collect it. He is doing the Ramshackle Rally across Europe and ending up in Croatia using a Mk3 Astra estate - i'm proud to say that my beasty old lump will be dragging it there too!
So that being gone allowed me to do the last bit of tidying in the garage...
...then squeeze the ****ler back in. Really happy to have it locked up overnight again now - i've been sleeping better the last few days

Two dents that have been on my roof since before I had the car have finally started to go rusty in the last few weeks - thought I better take action before it got any worse!
Whilst waiting for filler to dry, I pulled a load of stickers off. I've decided to go for a more subtle look for a while so that I can have a bit more fun baiting other cars :wink:
Then moved on to primer...
And paint. But wait...something doesn't quite look right there!
Oh ****, that'll be the wrong paint then! Got given 28L rather than 27L...****!
Its stopping the rust though, so a flat and polish later...fook it! Its not a show car so *******s to it for now. If it starts to annoy me i'll just matt black the whole roof. Hopefully though i'll hold out until winter when we take it off the road for a few weeks to do a lashup paintjob and tidy it all up a bit.
Gave the old girl a bath, claying (to get rid of overspray mainly) then a quick coat of wax. Looking much better!
'Proper' update with some more interesting stuff soon hopefully. I've got my name down on a set of Koni Adjustables with 5 stud so will be on the lookout for new wheels again soon!

I dont think anything was wrong with it. He simply swapped it for a much more powerful engine.
The SPI engine has gone!!!!
slight update from me this evening... First of all a pic from Sunday night at a meet myself and some of my bunch went to - had a few good races - very close with a supercharged Yaris although I completely ****ed the launch 
Then whooped an SEH Nova Was quite pleased with that
Did a couple of mods on the inlet side of things earlier. Been wanting to try out my Ecotec inlet pipe for a while so i've stuck that on - haven't driven it yet but it seems to rev a little more freely and the induction noise is ace
Then following on from a brief conversion with Mr Wazpaz last night, I cut up a bit of my spare oil hose and route the big breather in to a bottle (after blocking up the pipe in to the inlet obviously) Will be interesting to see if/how much it breathes!
