yeah sould look like it did the day it was made from vauxhall an last much longer this time around. 
sould be starting back at it again sometime next week as im still waiting on the new welder to arrive. whats that stuff called that gose over the welds once there dne? is it just weld sealer?

Seam sealer on the seams, etch primer/red oxide on everything else as far as i know. I've never used anything else, I know a lad that uses "stopper" on the pin holes though.
did you cringe when you put the angle grinder on the bodywork the first time ?? I always do lol
I use Zinc spray ... especially after welding.

Yup I use that too, Zinc 182, very good for stopping rust apperently. The general rule is to do as much as possible to prevent it, the more the better. Get some waxoyl on there too and not the aerosol type cause thats poo.
Well, i am in the process of doing my sills, and they have been zinced up on the inside, on the outside I used a bit of tiger seal, then primer / oxide then filler, new pins and away you go.
new pins? is that for the side skirts to go back on?? if so where would i get a few of them??
iv not been doing much over the last 2 weeks on the car as i was waiting for the new welder an finally it came in today.. so im hopeing to get some bit done on the car this weekend if the weather picks up a bit

Sealey things seem to be good enough ive never herd of anyone complain about their stuff. Be good to see some more work

Hey Joe, sorry, I didnt see this reply. but you can get them from Vauxhall. I got mine from Opel for at 53 cents a throw.

ok got sick of waiting around for the inner petrol filler panel to come and went looking for a cheap astra to chop it out from... got lucky an gave some polish dude 50euro for this 5 door astra haha but the engine is feckd as the belt snapd. so anyway came home today an found my dad busy cutting up the rear quarter on the 5door. which sould be the same as the 3door part i want.
