lmao lmao treated with just a spray? that aint good! astra arches rust from the INSIDE outwards. so if there is slight bubbling on the surface, then its even more ugly behind it

red oxide ... Good! prob the best sealer to put on ****ed metal! Do your car another favour tho, get them back wheels off and underseal EVERY bit off it behind the arch... The more the better, after awhile, it will go hard as a rock, and keep water from the back off the arches! and make sure your got paint on the edge of the lip Should be all good!

the bonnet aint open .. its the only niggle thats anoying me ... i spent a wile trying to adjust it and it just wont sit right humbug !!

it can be a fine art getting the bonnet to sit right, some astra i've seen are shocking! its even worse for me because i've got the badboy extension, so if i tighten the spring to much, it will pull it tight to the headlights and crack them!

with all the troubles you guys are having with resprayed cars with bonnets not sitting right, etc. I'm glad mine aint sprayed. lmao

Update

OK now body work is in perfect condition, i am now turning towards the mechanical side ....

once saved up again plans are

• Replace Valve Stem Seals
• New Head Gasket (due to stem seal replacement)
• Piper or kent cams
• new alternator & battery
• diamond performance clutch
• sportex cat back exhaust system
• new starter (possibly)
• sprayed cam and rocker cover to match body
• lots of chrome and stainless steel bits

This little lot is gonna cost me a bit so will be a wile until i have enough to do this little lot .. i really want to do it all in one go so i guess around Feb time approx

Little update

Ok i thought i would give engine bay a little clean today to prepair for some styleing bits

pictures dont really do it justice .. looks alot better . cleaned rocker cover .. and pipes etc and abs box

badly needs some phase one rear lights or a set from rob. but other than that thats a good clean car.

any more problems with the engine or is it all good to go now?
