dodgy revs

hi crew, i have had my astra garaged for 5 years not going hardly nowhere and now that i have got it out to drive and finnish off its not running well. ive had new exhaust, the revs are ok one moment but then speed up and hold high. and just sounds like its missing. do you think it just needs driving like i stole it style to blow it through??

Try cleaning the idle control valve out first as chances are it's sticking

clean the idle control valve if that doesnt cure it check for air leaks mate

deffinately sounds like the icv also when was the last lot of petrol put in it its not gone bad has it?

same here

my car does exactly the same, i was wondering what the problem was.

my car, on start up , seems to idle ok then the revs increase by themselves lol

ok, is this icv easy thing to sort out?

Mine was doing it, and cutting out every now and again.

I cleaned the ICV out and it was fine, but its started doing it again

Now i just heel and toe it each time im stopping
