glue problems...

I would HIGHLY recomend a caramel wheel, tried everything else, took me bout 2 hours for 1 door with various products and 45 mins-1 hour for all other 3 doors using caramel wheel and wd40. get them off ebay for bout 6 quid including drill bit for it. stripe removing pad i think proper name for em. dont bother with anything else.

that glue must b pretty stubborn..........

it sure is, and this sh*tty weather means i havent had a chance to finish it but its still not sorted. got the glue off of where the badges were and almost done on the drivers side - tar remover will sort that. just need the rain and wind to stop so i can have another go at passengers side. proper annoyed tho as managed to scratch off some paint on passengers door :doh: and i tiny bits where the vauxhall badge pulled off is chipped  so basically i made a straight forward job hard work lol

in my experience dont use the hairdrier method as heat makes the glue stickier which makes it harder to come off mine took me no more than half an hour i jus pulled the bump strips off then edged up the foamy glue and slowly peeled it off. it leaves just a small clear residue but honestly i say jus use some t cut or something similar and a bit of elbow greese focusing on v v small areas at a time!

if u know a joiner, ask them for some pvc cleaner, they use it to remive the residue from protective films on windows, it makes the glue a lot softer and use a credit card, after that to get it nice and shiny, t cut an scrub!!

fudge wheel man and a drill takes 15 mins to do i dun it and didnt use owt else it takes no time ill see if ive got the 1 i used.....
