Hi this is my diary about my astra.
It's SORN at the moment but that's only because I have my other car to run too, I'm going to sell my Clio soon which will help my fund for the astra.
Its a 1.4 Merit (Hi-Torq), at the moment i'm not fussed about the engine, I just love the car.
My plan is to:
Give it a complete clean
Get a Gsi Kit (bumpers, skirts and spoiler)
Some nice alloys
40mm Lowering Springs
A nice big exhaust!
Tinted rear windows
New lights (Xeon)
Electric windows and Mirrors (new doors)
Spray the car a whole new colour.
The car seems fine so far I haven't found rot, just small bits of rust which can be easily treated and covered.
The engine runs great for its age, as far as I know i'm the 6th owner and its been a trip to the shops kinda car used by the elderly.
Its only done 84k on the clock for a P reg, it took me a while to find, its been my dream to own one and now i'm trying to follow my dream, my love for the car started when I was in middle school and I knew someone who has a 1.4 Merit, and put in a 2L engine; from then on I knew it was a car I wanted.
Years later with 2 years under my belt I can finally afford the damn insurance!.. kinda.
Once my car is finished my plan is to drive it to cruises, shows and meets.
I hope to keep this car as long as I can and enjoy it while it lasts, it took me a year to buy this car because I couldnt find any 3 doors within my area on the internet, they were all over 200 miles away! Lucky for me my mum saw it in the window of a village shop in a very remote place where she works.
