Well its about time I got a diary started so here goes...

I purchased my 07 SRi 1.9CDti 150 a few weeks back with 44k on the clock, loads of service history, fresh mot etc and at a great price, but having another car to get rid of meant I could't use the vectra just yet, however this weekend I finally had the insurance changed over and I'm now enjoying the veccy which is a great combination of economy and power imo, the coupe is still for sale though so pm me if your interested ;)

Shame the weather wasn't better this weekend because I wanted to give the veccy a good machine polish and wax however due to the rain I had to settle for just a good wash instead (roll on better weather!) there was lots of green stains & dirty in all the hard to reach areas so they got a good seeing too.

The veccy was clean but just not to my standard so I gave the interior a good going over, hoovered everything and gave all the trim a wipe down. I also removed the un-used Witter twin socket tow bar as I have no use for it -the wiring was hooked into all sorts so carefully removed it all (the reason the car was traded in was because the last owners wanted to tow a massive caravan on verious holidays etc and the towing weights for the vec where on its limit! I also fitted my irmy tax disc holder & sunglasses holder (I do have the centre roof one but the missus has already claimed it lol), fitted a set of flat blade wipers and insignia washer jets (brilliant combo imo) and I had a set of silvertec indicator bulbs laying around so they went into the rear lights, I also purchased a set of vaux mats, they are a perfect fit and look great!

Heres a bunch of photos, sorry about the order, they are abit mixed up but you get the idea!

Next jobs to do are fit a new pollen filter, de-badge the boot and fit a boot liner. I also want to do the machine polising when the weather is better, remove the alloys to clean under the archs and seal the alloys with some poorboys sealant.

Plenty of mods lined up in the future too so watch this space!

Snap. Does yours have electric folding mirrors? Nice clean example. Ive fitted the floormats in mine and the insignia jets and flat wipers should be arriving tomorrow :)

You going for a dtuk box any time soon?

Very nice indeed.. this site needs renaming to the 'Mk3 Astra & Vectra Owners Club'

Dont forget the amount of Mk4's too

Nice buy mate!

I don't have leccy folding mirrors, the flat blades and jets are a great combo! Think I will get a tuning box soon, just need to gen up on them a bit more first, probably going to stop at courtenays on my way home one day this week and get a panel filter too. Loving the 6 speed box! Also going to try the 18's on when I get some time just to see what they look like....

Cheers for the comments guys!

Another Vec C Derv

thats 3 of us now! I have a friend selling a dtuk box for a 150 btw if anyones interested :)

Nice car mate, is it running the m32 then ?

im also considering a DTUK box just not really sure yet.

think these have the F40 box

Yep F40 boxes on the later ones.

Kev - what box is it (colour) ?

The weather has been much better this weekend so I got on with the detailing and a few other little jobs!

I popped into Courtenays after work (handy when you work practically next door lol) and purchased a performance panel filter, before fitting I removed the top cover of the air inlet trumpet and gave the the box a damp good clean to remove various dead bugs and leaf matter.

Next up was to change the pollen filter, turns out the old one was a carbon filter, still it was filthy so out it came.

My boot liner also turned up so fitted it in mere seconds, much better!

The next job was to fit an egr restrictor plate, decided not to totally block it off as I didn't want any warning lights. Before fitting the plate I removed the egr valve and stripped it down, cleaned all the thick gunk and soot off and refitted with the plate in place - no warning lights so can't be bad!

Next I decided to de-badge the tailgate, not a fan of the massive griffin or the lettering so 30 minutes later it was all gone.

Then onto the detail, a decent wash, followed by drying, then a machine polish using various compounds and liquids, then sealed the paint with some poorboys XP and finally topped off with 2 coats of collinite. The paint feels like polished glass! Done inside all the door shuts etc and removed a few scratches. This was Saturday over with, Sunday (today) all the wheels came off, the arches got a good clean and the brakes got a splash of silver hammerite. The wheels where then deep cleaned and sealed using poorboys followed by a coat of wheel wax. After having a look at the rear tyres Iv decided I'm going to order 2 new ones as the treads don't match and they only have a few months left in them. I also cleaned the glass inside and out and rain-x'd them, and polished the tailpipe.

Such a shame the sun was going in when I had finished and ready to take the photos! So the next job is to give under the bonnet a little attention and fit a couple of new tyres.

Looking good. How much was the boot liner, ive been looking at ebay ones but dunno what the quality would be like on them.

Mine was off ebay, about £25/ £30, the quality isn't too bad, I'm sure it will do the job fine... My dad wants one for his now

ill find out what one later for you

Found out its a red box my friend has for sale
