Are you loosing any radiator fluid? - Could be the heater matrix if so, had that issue on my previous mk3 many moons ago.

Are you on the insignia drivers uk forum?

Always have a hankering for another mk3!
I'm not on the forum I don't think, maybe I signed up ages ago and forgot about it. I'm on the Facebook group

Nah its not the heater matrix I checked that and it's bone dry. It was deffo coming in through the scuttle panel area

So I've been steadily working away on the astra and last month marked 18 years of ownership, so it's now legally allowed to play the lottery in UK.

Anyhoo, I've been having a bit of trouble getting the alignment done, 1st garage made a total balls up of it and made it worse, 2nd garage (who did a fantastic job on the insignia after a slight mishap in that, really should update that diary sometime) couldn't do it because 1st garage rounded off the adjuster bolts. Solution was rather than mess about trying to change adjusters was just to swap out the full thing, found some decent ones online and done in less than half an hour. Below is a pic of the box they came in.

I've also ditched the GSi seats after many years of faithful service with some 5 door sports seats (which i prefer over GSi seats anyhoo) which i procured from Mr Murray on here. Will get pics soon. Anyway here's a pic from Saturday when I decided to finally fix the bonnet lifters.

The puddle under the car isn't from it, just bad placement and I couldn't be arsed photoshopping it out.

So in conclusion I super duper promise to update this more often starting with Friday when hopefully the alignment gets done properly and I don't need to hold the steering wheel at a 90 degree angle to go in a straight line

Oh I also went to America and saw a real life space shuttle, nothing to do with the astra but I just like telling people

How cool is that

You know that the GSI and sport seats are just different covers right? But agreed I do prefer these over GSI ones.

I do know that but there's something about phase 2 sports seats that trump (swear word) gsi seats. I think it's because they don't have the recliner levers and a nicer pattern just look better

Yea i mean if you have a 5 door then your better with the sport seats which don't have the levers lol

Surely that space shuttle hasn't been used, it looks mint!

I got the GSi seats for free about 10 years ago so they've had a good innings.

It was restored over about 10 years in the hangar, dunno if the inside of it is restored as well or just the exterior. They have a concorde plane as well which I got a shot in, I get fascinated when I see stuff like that

So things aren't great now with this thing

Haven't sourced where it's coming from as of yet but somewhere down the very back of the engine. If it's just a hose it's gonna be fun time trying to source a new one of those. Anyone any ideas feel free to share away

Also last night I went and saw the manic street preachers and I advise everyone to see them if they can, it was incredible. Much better than your trendy Sabrina Carpentry and Chapelle Rowans

Regarding your leak, is it coolant? could be heater matrix hoses snagging on the gear linkage or the oil cooler plate that sits in the middle of the heads. Either way shouldn't too difficult to find. If it's a home juts cut through and use a plastic or brass hose joiner to sort.

Yeah it's coolant. My 1st thought was the oil cooler but I've been unable to source a replacement so far so hoping it it just a hose from the heater matrix

looks like engine oil in the picture! Just get yourself a roosemotorsport one mate, they do black
Nah its deffo coolant, the header tank is emptying as soon as its filled
