I got meself some today of a saab turbo engine....

What difference do they actually make... and how do i go about fitting them??

Cheers :)

They allow you to run lower fuel pressure, rather than standard injectors with stupid high fuel pressure.

so is that a better then or not?? i dont really know.. i just no there worth some wonga.. so fort id get meself them lol.

If your upping boost and pushing your engine yes, if your not then no.

well at the mo.. its only runnning 220bhp on standard ecu.. but will it be ok to stick them in to future proof it as such??

No.

If you're going to fit them, the ECU needs to know about it.
what so take the ecu out and talk to it?? lol

reeeemap time lol

im going to be using green giant volvo injectors in my saab engine, but the map needed tailoring first due to the different flow rates. the ecu just knows how long to open the injectors, so if the flow rate was more you'd get the wrong amount of fuel going in

well mike's running them in his.....

So will speak to him, as he's run fine on rr with them on....

Also... you cant remap the ecu's

ah yes i forgot that unlike the saab ones you have to swap chips instead of mapping :)

looking around ive seen people say that you need to let the ecu learn the injectors, this may take quiet a few cycles before they get it right. its also says that you shouldnt go full throttle until its sorted itself for fear of running lean.

seems motronic has good learning for these things, but make sure your feul pump isnt old and tired as this could see its demise aparently.

probably best to setup afr gauge while trying them out.

the ECU will learn to live with the new injectors, the impedance is quite close to the standard ones so shouldnt take long. it may run like **** for a bit while the engine learns though.

as said dont use full throttle untill the ECU has sorted itself out and you'll have to get the fuel pressure set up properly to match otherwise it'll over fuel like a bitch

as people have said the c20let motronic can learn to adapt for saab reds, best procedure is to fit them and then disconnect the battery for at least 30mins so it clear the adaptions then after that start the car and dont touch anything and just let it idle for 5mins or longer and then after that take it out to adapt on the road first start off with just normal driving then slowly start increasing how high you go in the rev range and if you have a nice long hill buy you do a 3rd gear pull up the hill so it can learn maximum load and it should be ok then

c20let yellows are 304cc/min = 61HP each
saab reds are 359cc/min = 72HP each

my new ones are 630cc/min (NICE)

this sites pretty usefull
