Satin red/ burgundy astra saloon..

Well the new engine is in. All built back up filled it full of water and water wee'd out of the thermostat housing! It had cracked somewhere during the installation, wound me up so stripped it all back down gonna get a new o ring and stuff for my other housing and build it all back up. Nearly ready to drive again

Thought I'd post a little update on here as had t for a while, I built up all the engine a month or so back and it leaked water, turned out to be one of the head gaskets cracked behind the timing cover So I stripped it all back down removed the heads and then I lost my job so was out on hold for a while, but a week or so back I bought an elring head gasket set and bolts and set again getting it built back up and running. Pics to follow

Looks good, timing belt is close to the chassis leg on these

Can't wait to get it all back together, gonna get. Walbro ordered for it on pay day

Thanks Andy. All built up and with a jump pack fired up no problem at all, have an issue with the alternator not chargin again but hopefully a new one will sort that out. Gave the full car a full polish today and a general good clean, heat gunned all the bumpers and bits of trim.
Also purchased a syntec adjustable fuel reg, hoping to get a few more bits ordered on pay day. Pics to follow

Also bought new gearbox oil to change the current oil while I source all the parts I need to out the f16 on.

Any comments welcome
