nice work mate, dont forget to use new bolts with them bottom arms, there stretch bolts so should only use them once.

Thanks m8! Yeh I replaced all the subframe bolts with new ones, I seen what happened to Rons GSi, dont fancy no threads in my floor

Had a good day on the car yesterday, look what arrived in the post for me 
Hopefully make a difference, the original pot type weighs a tonne! So it was box off, mounting points tapped out
Replaced the rear crankshaft oil seal for piece of mind, then bolted up the flywheel, with thread lock to stop oil creaping down the threads. New F28 clutch fitted
Refitted the box back to the engine, now it was time to get it in the car! Bought 3 new mounts to fit, as the originals were looking pritty dead. About half hour later we had this
Well happy with how it looks in the bay, starting to show some progress now! Kind of stuck now as Im waiting for my Roose hoses to come. Anyone want to swap a polished cam cover and cambelt cover for a good original painted one? More to follow, hope you all approve!

Time for another update, been slow to update this as I've wanted to crack on and get it done for PV show. Anyway look what came in the post

Next up was to mount the slim line fan onto the rad, used a 1.7 TD GM engine rad, so chinese fan on
Then I fitted the equal length drive shafts, along with Saab 284mm front discs, with 54mm piston calipers
This is where I'm missing some pics, but basically, it all done! Took it for a drive and found that my F28 is noisey But drives well. Going to MIJ in Wallsal for a complete exhaust system in the next few days. Il post some pics of what they do. Heres how she stands at the min, passed MOT no problem, taxed and ready to rock My insurance was only £100 more than it was with the standard 2.0, all 100% legal, so what do we think?
By the way, its not pink, its just my crap phone lol, will be clay barring it in the next few days, along with a light mop, ready for PV

looks spot on mate, where did you get the fan from? and hows it mounted?
looks sweet mate, nice sleeper, how much was the new TD rad, what what you pay for the fan? looking at fitting one between the cooler and rad to suck air through the cooler

The fan was off Ebay mate, just type in Kenlowe and you will see them, its a 12 " fan, only a copy but it works ok. You have to buy a mounting kit, only a fiver, its held with cords through the core of the rad, with a clip on the end. Seems secure

Hey and thanks. The rad was about £55 trade to me from a local motor factors. the fan was £35 from Ebay

Hi all
Got the old Astra back on the road last night after a six month lay up over winter. Forgot how fun it is to drive lol. Just got to sort out a mamouth sump/oil pump leak later today. Pics will follow tonight!
