Surly you can get £1000 for the car
Id rather brake it than let anyone take it for a grand to be honest

Eh!!!! You don't want to sell the car for £1000 but would like to break it and sell as spares for a grand.
That means that I could ask for all the Parts that make up the car, and offer You, Say £1100, and I will come and drive it away and keep it as it is.
My first port of call, would be to lower the price. But sometimes when You have done up and spent so much money, You just don't want to sell it too cheaply.

As the man say's what your willing to accept for it..
Problem is people atm have very little spare cash to throw at what is esentially a old car and would rather spend the same kind of money on something newer which is more economical with the price of petrol the way it is..cheap on road tax and made in korea....which will fall to bits within five years..
Unfortunatly mk3's are not yet up to classic status so prices will dwindle untill such time comes when they reach desireable staus again at which piint prices will rocket..
If it was a ltd edition say one of a hundred made it reaches the desireable status a lot quicker due to the low production volume of that model..
My opinion john keep it another ten year and see how much it is worth then you will be surprised
Its sold. Gone to a bodyshop owner in manchester who will be no doubt restoring it further
Glad its gone to a good home mate if I had a spare 2k (which I don't) yours would be the first one I buy I had my eye on it on ebay I was even considering selling my 03 reg fiesta to fund it but the fiesta aint worth that much lol.
