My senior worker

Little update again, i really gotta stop using the "will it ever stop" thread..

Remember that nice bumper, grill and fender i found on the wreckage?

Yeaahh... some **** shot right infront of me while i had the right of way... insurance declared it a total loss.

Damage was pretty limited, but the value of these astra's is less than scrap.

Since i have no money for a new car, and i'm too emotionally attached to my astra.
I decided to head back to the scrapyard and find that wreckage with the same color code. Hoping to fix her for cheap.
picked up some other bits i needed too!

week later, i've decided to just repaint the bits i had... instead of using the stupid dupont color scanner my bud uses. I went back to Standox's sample cards.
Found a good match and bought 1L. primer, color and clearcoat was about 250 quid including sanding and such.

Bought a new bootleg bumper, including some ph1 fogs. But they didn't fit so well.

So i pulled some old ph2 fogs out of a wreckage, which fitted.
Altho one of them is pretty hazy inside, not sure how to fix that.

And finally

Probably should wash the roof before i put magnets on it... incomming scratches!

picked up some ph2 tail lights from a cabriolet. I like the darker indicators :)

only 5 quid!

Whens that again? i may be able to get some vacation then

I don't think i can Ed, UK trip isn't cheap like me!

Also fitted astra mk4 alloys, they fit rather nicely.

The car sits rather high now, which makes driving trough forest much eachier, i often scraped the oilpan

I should take some next time i tow something trough a forest, it always scraped when the middle part of the road had some bulge to it.

Earlier today i drove over a speed bump at 45. Bumper didn't hit the road this time. i'm quite digging these!

As for size, they do seem to be quite a chunk bigger than the 14's, she sits a few cm higher now
