Yeah but it's also around the rim, think as soon as tyres are changed that would be broken off

I thought even the pro places just sanded it back and used filler?
No but there was some cd's in there from my youth: hardcore heaven and HTID. There was also a dvd called college co-eds

I'm not 100% positive, one place I know of, I believe ally welds them to build them back up depending on the damage, think I may do some research although white wheels on a daily probably isn't the best idea!

Agreed but I'm that anal. I'll have the wheels off every week to clean them!
Got the the wheels and tyres done. Put the wing back on for a mock up of the ride height. I couldn't quite match the white on the centrecaps but then I decided that I didn't really care, so I'm happy with them. Added some blue centrecap stickers to match the bumper stripes and brakes.
got about 20mm of adjustment up or down before the adjuster fouls the tyre. Safe to say it will be going down.
The weber carb is bolted on, luckily the adapter plate on the the top is the right one for the original top hat so I can run a cone filter behind the headlight rather than a bolt on one on top
The bolts that hold the top hat on are different than the ones I've got for some reason, so we may have to get a bit creative with some threaded bar on top of the carb to go through the top hat to bolt it down, and a bit of sealant just to make it airtight around the rim
So in the end it should look something like this.

Few other small bits done changed wiper arms, fitted the distributor and leads. I am using an escort mk2 dissy cap and a golf mk3 rotor arm as that's all that I could get to fit.
Euro parts get some stick on some forums, but my local branch in whitchurch put up with me for hours. For a few days on the trot ordering every rotor arm and dissy cap ever made until we found one that would work so big thumbs up to them.

Lots left to do, sump back on, new sills, seal underside and renew/ rebuild rear beam brakes etc. Paint both doors, wings and bonnet and find a decent bootlid. Then strip the interior and fit cav seats, new clocks, steering wheel...
Doesn't help only having a few hours on it here and there. Budget build!
It'll get there in the end though.

i think the blue looks really good.
also with the refurbing wheels thing, if ur doing a crap job u grind back the curb marks and filler, but the proper way (for amatures) is to grind back, liquid metal, then grind back again then paint. did that to the megane and she curbed the wheels again and they survived brilliantly.
filler would of just fallen off.
the proffessional weld the wheels up and grind back, but u have to have a tig welder. sod that lol
