South East chit-chat.

The diesel is good man it's holding all its fluids like a good mileage muncher should and returning about 45mpg for some dramatically varied driving.
Ahem... that will also be for sale soon... maybe...

How comes you're getting rid of it? Got new, more mental plans?

I'd actually be tempted to buy it off you, as I've been considering a MK3 project a bit more seriously after my little bump in Chiselhurst last week... Not very happy with the car at the moment even if it is just a cracked bumper and broken clips... I'm just in a mood to stop pumping money into a daily driver derv... I've just got nowhere to put a project car. 3 cars on the driveway... and we had to tarmac over the grass to fit the third car on... Absolutely no on-road parking if you're staying more than a few hours... and a car won't fit in the bloody garage... Oh well.

I went on that Southeastern High Speed train line today for work... Fook me that thing is quick... Came out of St Pancras, and you just feel this surge... Blink and you're at Stratford... Feel another surge, fly out of a tunnel and you're along the M2 doing 140MPH... It seriously looked like everyone on the M2 had just parked up we were going so fast  It took 25 minutes to get from St Pancras in North/Central London to Strood near bloody Rochester. It's just a shame it took another 30 minutes to get from Strood to Maidstone West... bloody slow trains

anyone from west sussex? im up crawley as of today till friday :D

Grr.... I feel I may be losing the love for my Astra... so I find myself sat on Autotrader eyeing up a tasty looking Alfa Romeo GT coupe in Missano Red... :tape: 55 plate, 62k on the clock, full black leather interior... Pretty much the same 1.9 oil burner engine I've got in the Astra... £6,995...

It is tempting... :tape:

I bought balto's old astra.. its now my daily hack :) woop!

I have to agree with Mike. I was eyeing up 156s and gtvs a while ago for when I take the Astra off the road.

Red/black 156, Veloce spec, tan leather, Bose (rare option on a diesel), 2.4 JTD... I've nosed round a few of those before.
Only when they go wrong the repair bills are astronomical, hence the depreciation and low resale values, to make reliable would need to service at least every 10k and belts on those have been known to go before 30k is up (which is the change interval). Then there's the inevitable corrosion, not just the floorpan but also the electrics... I would not like to diagnostic one of those

Edit: I'm sure they're nice when they work though

Too quiet in here for my liking. Scrappage killed all the mk3's off or something?

Need to get out, do a meet or something...

...just WAKE UP!

**** me, there IS life out there lol.

Alright Ben, long time no see.
What are you running now you don't have the sport?

Alright Kev, you still in Dartford?
