right, got there! it would seem that the +ve feed to reverse switch is live all the time, and the -ve side is through switched ignition! the reverse switch is shorting to the engine/gearbox casing, making that a +ve feed for everything earthed to it! no wonder the immobiliser and engine ECU went banana's yet bulbs and guages worked, even with no ignition key! all is well with reverse switch unplugged, or the connector bridged (should i want permanent reverse lights!) which numpty designed a switch with a constant supply with a metal outer that bolts into the earth circuit! gonna get a new switch tomorrow, and see if i am right! flashed ECU fault codes this morning, got a bloody list of them!!! at least they will clear with thirty on/off's! just to make sure, every connector in the engine bay has been unplugged, inspected, WD40'd, re-connected! i swear the thing runs better now!
lookin good mate loving the dash lights top work! was lookin awsome tuva week at the meet n tbh i find it hard enuff to change sum seats so doing all tht takes skill bud nice one!
right then: now the above is sorted, back on track!
spring mission statement:
1. get some decent dampers all round
2. get the rear lowered 30mm ish
3. optimise the currently standard engine!
(4. manifold, exhaust system if money allows!)
coming up with the bike TB ideas, that will probably be a winter project.
lorry went down the side of me, the hubcap did most the damage. very busy slip road on dual carrigeway, no where to go for both of us. no point ****ing around with insurance companies as it was mostly my fault. lorry driver was ok, cool with it all, he had a cracked hubcap/wheel nut cover. bugger!
No worries mate, they are just sat in my shed. Should have a full set of almost new Koni -35mm springs soon aswell.
I was thinking of using Throttle bodies on mine but it seems its alot more expensive that way. So Carbs will do me, as i can get a cheap set and a Manifold made cheaply.
If you struggle finding any bike bits then give me a shout mate
