No. 35 - Vauxhall / Bedford Midi van

Mr.Negative - do I remember correctly that you rigged up a pump to roll coal?

Got any details about it?

The Isuzu I'm running has the fuel turned up. I've not modded the pump though- anti-tamper cap off and then its just a lock nut and a screw.... turn in for more fuel, out for less.

Simples on mine.

Ah. I don't want to mess with the fuelling for general driving.

Just want to add a 'smoke' button to the dash, which ditches more diesel in.

Look into what the tank units have? They dump diesel into the exhaust or manifold to make a smoke screen.... or they used to (was picking a tank commanders brain a while back).

I've got some photos to sort out and upload, but for now I've got a video clip...

Fitted a pair of mud-terrains to the other L200 rims, had to use the fire trick on one:

I wish I'd thought of that the last time I did some I struggled like a son of a B*tch :( ... I'll remember it fer next time though ;)

You have to have your toes near the rim to open it up. I was in steelies anyway.

Just don't use too much accelerant, or it'll over-inflate. ;)

Well, the main reason for getting the Midi over the more available, fuel efficient, and easier to find parts for 'Caddy' van was for camping purposes.

This reason is now null and void.
Glad I wasted my time and money going all the way to Wales to get it. :(

The wife.

I had this weekend off work, Saturday I was booked to be at a 4x4 show, then Sunday and poss Monday sightseeing.

Friday after work I went to a meeting, then emptied all the junk out of the van, loaded up with camping gear, sorted out clothes, etc. While the wife was down the pub.

Finally left at 22:00, and the wife had decided to get herself bladdered, and was still drinking.

The van isn't really suited to motorway speeds, so a slow plod, night motorway closures, and a few pit stops (including dinner) meant we didn't get to Stratford upon Avon until around 01:40.

Pulled up in a Tesco carpark, which was the plan from the very start (CCTV, toilets, etc), spent 20 mins sorting the back of the van out, blowing up air bed, etc.

The wife then outright says no. She's not sleeping in the van in a car park.

It's 02:00, there is nowhere else to go, too late to check into a hotel.

We had a bit of a heated row, I had been up since 06:00 on Friday and not really stopped moving. I was pissed off she waited until the last minute to say anything.
She got herself worked up, and the booze worked itself out, vomit all over the cab of the Midi.

We drove home.

Got back at 06:30, and went to bed.

Weekend cancelled, ruined and completely wasted.

The whole idea of getting the Midi instead of a Caddy was so that we could go on camping trips. Which obviously isn't going to work.

Sorry if I am out of order BUT

You'd of thought after all these years and commuting to marry you she would open that mouth and say something before now. I bet youve told her your plans in the past and she was ok over all this but now to do that it is ****. Have you talked about it since? TBH I think its a nice gesture you want to do it to spend time with her end of the day and she is bloody rude for not thanking you.
