my astra saloon sleeper

Cracking stuff Gareth, so basically b204 bottom end, with b205 head valves and springs and b204 cams yes?..

yeah the head is now good for what ever I chuck at it

The 204 don't suffer from sludge problem so theres no need to drop the sump (no harm doing so to check), it was the breather system on the205 engines combined with bad oil and also how they changed it that created sludge problem.

Excellent work Gareth :)

I dropped it anyway pleased I did, I found a 10mm bolt in their and loads of muck clogging the pickup pipe gauze, so washed it out petrol diesel mixed, new sump plug, new oil and filter, all is good as new now..

took it out only had base boost but that's due to me messing around with the Actuator, soon fixed that :)

Can't wait to have another drive in this bad boy naz!!

its quicker than before as last time I was on the manual Boost controller and T25,, now its all changed next on the list is 3bar map sensor and 630cc injectors, these will be over the winter mods along with many other things

not much to report lately, just enjoying driving it annoying posh cars,

she's developed a little knock on the front im pretty sure its the passenger damper, but im gonna fit brand new ones all round over the winter. its her last outing this weekend going upto Scotland and back, stretch her legs then its put in the garage for the winter..

what sort of power u expecting?! What turbo u on now?

mine is comin off the road end of this month weather is rubbish now!

at present its around 280bhp, and 380nm torque, with standard red injectors 1.3bar boost on a TD04 15T from a 9k aero,

with a 3bar map sensor and bigger injectors I can see 320bhp at 1.5 - 1.6 bar boost and a ecu tweek, I plan to upgrade the compressor wheel and housing to a 18 - 19T at some point and see 350bhp and around 450nm torque, along with a bigger cooler and pipework.

I did get a quote for a Saabflight turbo which is a hybrid nobody knows what goes in to them but they £795 plus exchange, guaranteed 380bhp and very minimum Lag,

the weathers terrible operation strip down and clean up required :)

Sounds like good future plans!

yea mine is coming off the road now, wheels off massive clean up and detail. Hate winter, not even worth the car going out on the road!

Sound like good plans! Saabflight would work out cheapest vs Garrett, direct fit no messing about with lines etc. Your not going to achieve 320bhp on the TD04 15T, touch optimistic, that is what a 19T puts out (234 gives a touch more).

Look forward to your progress as always !

I was up in Scotland for the weekend, give Michael Lavelle a message see if I could finally get the 2 saloons together for a few photos, request accepted, so today on my return I called in to Michael's what a cracking motor especially the 2door conversion, finally J286 JAE and J266 JAE get together

Id love to 2door mine but theirs alot of work involved considering the rear quarter is about 5ft long!! Moving the B posts back. Its definitly a challenge. Then theirs custom rear windows to have made.

O god yea, i remember seein the thread, gota have alot of balls to take something like that on! I know I wouldn't!

Still think it would be easyer to put a hardtop on a cabbie. Leave the old side windows and modify a roof from somthing.

well that's it the Old girl is now on a SORN, over the winter months I will be stripping cleaning and restoring, loads to do from now till May ready for PVS14
