Didn't realise you was in Prees. I'm only in Telford myself

Started taking bumpstrips off tonight as I've provisionally sold them. I was going to take them off anyway for the phase 1 look20160518_184307.jpg
Used an aerosol bond breaker and they came off ok
20160518_220303.jpg only did the rear quarters for now as I'm hoping to pick up a set of white doors and wings at the weekend.
These ones on it are ok for spares but there's a couple of small dents in the doors and one wing is a bit tatty.
Plus the ones I'm hopefully getting have original phase 1 clips on them

I'm after a White passenger door for mine if you ever decide to sell mate

Had some parts off this. Note the mk3oc sticker...20160521_155001.jpg 20160521_155021.jpg 20160521_155009.jpg managed to get the bootlid and sideskirts a few weeks back, went back for the doors and a steering wheel boss. Unfortunately the wings weren't very good so I left them. My mate will be going back for the dash for his merit soon.

The bloke who owns it isn't a member of the club but left the stickers on from a previous owner. He tells me when he's got his saab engine out the bare shell will be going for scrap.
I said it's a shame to waste a genuine gsi shell. Its salvageable in my opinion. (Needs new rear arches and fuel filler panel)

he gave me his permission to put it up on here as a bare shell with logbook.
Anyone fancies saving it from the crusher just give me a shout and I can put you in touch.

Track rod end was stuck in the leg, tried everything to get it off. Ended up cutting it off as it was useless anyway20160526_173057.jpg

So, thought I would press it out with the vice and a socket........
20160526_173112.jpgSnapped the vice clean in half. And still have the track rod end stuck in the leg!
Good job I've got some spare legs. Shame I haven't got a spare vice.

Stripped a leg down and found it has the original bilstein pink shocks20160528_165835.jpgthese have done 90,000 miles but still feel ok. I'll use them again on the rebuild as the ones I have are cheaper TA technix jobbies. Although they've only done about 500 miles, these ones feel firmer.

Just out of interest and for future reference; Is there anywhere people know of that rebuild/renew these bilsteins?
